Big Bear marinas offer every kind of rental from kayaks and canoes to pedal boats and paddleboards. For a pure adrenaline rush hit the water on a jet-ski. For a more laid-back experience, step aboard a tour boat for a narrated cruise. You'll learn some Big Bear history, see beautiful mountain homes on the lakefront and hear about celebrities that made Big Bear their second home.

Big Bear: A Land of Trails

Big Bear sits in the middle of the San Bernardino National Forest giving access to hundreds of miles of trails suited for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and off-roading.

For years, Big Bear has been a hotspot for road cycling and mountain biking! Adrenaline junkies - advanced and beginners - can take on the downhill tracks at Summit Bike Park. With a variety of set ups, banked turns, bridges, and new trails each year there’s something for riders of all ability levels. Cross country riders have an endless supply of single-track trails throughout the Valley that are free year-round.

Off-roaders flock to Big Bear's OHV trails each season to clamber over boulders, conquer steep terrain, or just take in the beautiful scenery, like along the famous Gold Fever Trail.

Summer Family Fun

Big Bear is made for families. Kids will have a blast learning about Big Bear's wildlife and how to help preserve our forests for generations to come. The Big Bear Alpine Zoo offers a look into the native wildlife of the San Bernardino mountains while working hard to rehabilitate injured and imprinted animals. The Big Bear Discovery Center also provides visitors with maps and information about the National Forest. Activities like nature walks, children’s story time, and nature crafts are also offered.

Take a journey into the past and explore Big Bear's museums and history. The Big Bear Museum tells our valley's history through photos, displays, and recreations.
