Music and Concert Ideas to Enjoy in Big Bear this Summer
Big Bear is known for its summer outdoor activities but has quickly gained a following for its summer concerts. Big Bear's unique backdrop and venues give you an opportunity to enjoy an outdoor concert under the stars with the moon giving life to the mountainscape, a lakeside concert or in the popular Big Bear Village at the Cave, Big Bear's newest indoor concert venue showcasing top bands, musicians and entertainers. Here are some of our favorite unique, nighttime spots to enjoy world class music and concerts this summer.
Music in the Mountains Summer Concert Series is a popular series that happens every summer. The concerts are held at the Big Bear Discovery Center outdoor amphitheater and truly makes you feel like you are in the middle of the forest with the stars twinkling above. This venue is very unique due to its setting but also the music choices are fit for everyone in the family. Kids are welcomed and they have a place to get up and dance by the trees or to discover nature before the sun goes down. If you are wanting the true experience, purchase a General Admission ticket, bring lawn chairs and a picnic basket or cooler with food and bottled water. There is plenty of space in the back where you can still see the concert, enjoy your food on a tree stump or log and to dance. There is also affordable food options with meals starting at $5 and beer and wine is also available to purchase for 21+. We recommend you set up your spot w/chairs well before the concert starts.
On top of the great venue location, the tribute bands are World Class too! The season ends with the last concert on August 30, "Led ZepAgain" a tribute to Led Zepplin with special guest, the "Lighthouse Youth Orchestra." The first concert of the series sold-out so pre-purchase your Music in the Mountains tickets online or call 800-424-4232 to guarantee your seat.
The Cave is Big Bear's newest concert and entertainment venue offering year-round, weekly entertainment. Local business owner, David Stone, felt that Big Bear needed more nightlife options and completely remodeled the old Village movie theater into what is now The Cave. There is top notch lighting and sound along with comfy seats to sit back and enjoy your night or a large dance floor for the times you just want to get up and dance!
The venue is great for a night out and every weekend it offers a variety of music and entertainment options from Bill Medley of the Righteous Bros., U2 Tribute band, Reggae Music and live comedy shows. The Cave also offers a full bar along with food service. We suggest you take advantage of their FREE shuttle service that will pick you up from your cabin or hotel and also drop you back off at home after the concert so you can fully enjoy a worry free night! BigBear.com offers discounted tickets so guarantee your seat and make an easy pre-purchase online!
