If you prefer breathtaking views of the lake and succulent entrées with a flair for presentation, then Evergreen International is your place. This Steak and Seafood establishment provides an elegant ambiance and exceptionally prepared cuisine with a unique and interesting wine list sure to please even the most renowned wine connoisseur.

Nottinghams Restaurant offers a cozy, formal dining atmosphere complete with fireplace, perfect for romantic outings. It features quintessential California cuisine like tender steaks, fresh seafood, grilled entrées and pasta specialties. Select wines from Sonoma and Napa Valley are the perfect compliment to these palatable dishes.

How about a dining experience at the historic Knickerbocker Mansion? Bistro at the Mansion offers exquisite dinner on Friday and Saturday nights with a chef’s menu to please the most discriminating palate. Captain's Anchorage, which was once owned by Hollywood great Andy Devine, is known for its filet mignon stuffed with Dungeness crab, topped with artichoke hearts and smothered in béarnaise sauce.

Big Bear has quite a selection of ethnic fare bringing flavors from the Far East, the mountain ranges of the Himalayans, quaint villages of Bavaria, the shores of Sonora Mexico and Tuscany’s prolific countryside. Himalayan Restaurant tops the list for a unique cultural dining experience with the best Indian and Nepalese food in California, using only the freshest and finest ingredients and spices. If you want to experience the old world charm of Deutschland then head over to Old Country Inn for German favorites such as bratwurst, knockwurst and schnitzel. Sweet Basil Bistro offers a fresh, country Italian menu with dishes like lobster lasagna or grilled chicken breast with a creamy basil pesto over linguine.

No matter what you crave, Big Bear has it. A pizza is always a good choice after a day of playing in the forest or on the lake. Nobel Romans Pizza located in the Fun Plex serves a little slice of Italy with generous portions. If you like lots of cheese and pepperoni, this is your spot! Perhaps a casual place for a juicy burger or grilled chicken sandwich is to your liking. Not only does Big Bear Mountain Brewery have tasty fresh, cold brews, but it's also serves delicious cheeseburgers and homemade chili. Bear Belly Deli on the Moonridge boardwalk features Boar’s Head brand meats and cheeses for scrumptious deli-style sandwiches. If you're on the north shore of the lake you must stop in at The Gold Pan Restaurant for a genuine home-style meal. Bill Knick's Café located inside the Discovery Center is well known for its robust and flavorful soups.

Big Bear is known for big proportions too like at the Grizzly Manor Café where pancakes are bigger than the plate! For those with an appetite for pasta and pizza, mosey on over to Maggio's Pizza where you can find the only fresh baked pizza cooked in a brick oven in Big Bear.

There is something about mountain atmosphere and barbeque that blend so well together. It probably has something to do with the sweet aroma of slow cooked meats glazed with lots of barbeque sauce. B's Backyard Bar-B-Que, located right on the lake's edge, has baby back ribs to die for.

For the sweet tooth who has a craving for something sugary and sweet, whether it’s chocolate, cinnamon or lemon tart, will enjoy the variety of baked goods at Sugar Pine Bake Shop. Or stop in for breakfast goodies and fresh coffee before you hit the slopes. Open Early!

Many restaurants offer takeout and delivery if you prefer to eat at the comforts of your lodging accommodations. Or maybe you prefer to wakeup and have someone else cook you breakfast. If that's the case consider staying at one of Big Bear’s bed and breakfast inns or enjoy a breakfast buffet at one of the full-service hotels.
