Holiday Memories Are Made In Big Bear

Holiday Memories Are Made In Big Bear

Big Bear Lake Winter

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Time for a winter vacation in SoCal’s favorite winter playground, Big Bear Lake. Come up for the twinkling lights and frosty nights. Snow scapes and an ice-rimmed lake. Groomed runs and blue sky fun. Wintery hikes and fat tire bikes. It’s all here in Big Bear Lake.

Santa Claus is Coming To Town

Every Saturday and Sunday through December 23 you can bring the kids to The Village to share their Christmas Wish List with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Two more places to visit Santa in Big Bear are at Snow Summit on December 15 and December 22 or visit Santa’s Workshop at Merry Valley Farms on Friday and Saturday nights through December 22. Tons of holiday fun along with hayrides and a little one-on-one time with the man in the red suit. Merry Valley Farms is open through December 22.

Reserve Early For Holiday Dining

Several Big Bear restaurants will be serving a traditional Christmas dinner. Make your reservations early because they book up fast. If you want to stay in your cabin and have a great meal without all the work, you can hire Chef Allan, a private chef, to come to your cabin and prepare a gourmet holiday meal while you relax with family and friends. Last Minute Gifts

Avoid the holiday crowds and check out The Village shops where you’ll find unique gifts, chic mountain clothing and the latest winter sports gear that you will not find off the mountain. Stop by one of the local eateries or coffee houses for a quick bite or brew. For the undecided, there are always gift cards available for dining, activities or lodging.

Ring in the New Year

Ring in the New Year with the legendary Torchlight Parade at Snow Summit. 100’s of people gather at the top of the resort and ski or board down with torches in hand creating a magical scene for those watching from the basecamp. Several other local restaurants and pubs will be celebrating 2019 with liquid libations, party favors and the customary toast at midnight. For a family celebration head over to the Big Bear Convention Center where all ages are welcome. For the complete list of NYE parties in Big Bear, please click here.

Take A Winter Tour

The whole family can enjoy a jeep tour, a zipline tour or helicopter tour to experience the beauty of Big Bear in winter. If there is enough natural snow, there are snowshoe tours available through the Big Bear Discovery Center or Action Tours.

The Magic Of Night Sessions

An extraordinary experience that everyone should try is night skiing or boarding under the stars at Snow Summit. As you glide down the mountain, Big Bear Lake and the valley below look like a tiny hamlet filled with twinkling lights.

Snow Tubing

Some of the best fun on the mountain is when you take the kids snow tubing. Choose your inner tubes and ride the ‘magic carpet’ to the top of the hill. Hear the sounds of laughter as the kids race each other down the slopes. Snow tubing areas are open for night tubing every night starting December 15.

More Mountain Fun

Big Bear Alpine Zoo is fun for the whole family. Go horseback riding or visit the petting zoo at Baldwin Lake Stables. The Bowling Barn is a great place for large groups to gather for some indoor fun.

Ahhh...Relax

Rushing around to finalize your holiday season can be exhausting. Treat yourself to a hot stone massage, aromatherapy session or a custom facial. Check out the local yoga studio schedules for sessions that will help relax you and balance your energy.
