Seven Summits - Bertha Peak Hike
Posted: 06/15/11 | By Daniel
More than 60 people and a few dogs made the trek up for the Bertha Peak hike this last Saturday morning to complete the second Big Bear hike of the Seven Summits.
The extended winter had us all anxious to enjoy a warm morning on the mountain and the day cooperated fully. As usual our fearless leaders, Ted and Heather De Vito, led the charge and kept everyone on track and motivated. Climbing up the Cougar Crest trail is no easy walk but the spectacular views seen from high above the north shore are absolutely worth the effort.
When we finally reached the top of Bertha Peak, everyone sat around having snacks, drinks and laughs which is why it's so fun to do these hikes with the group. We don't care how fast you go, what's important is that you go! If you're interested in joining us for any or all of the next 5 hikes log onto www.sevensummitsofbigbear.org.
