1. Visit Veterans Park
Veterans Park is a memorial to our veterans situated lakeside with beautiful views. The park is a cooperative effort between the Big Bear Lake Rotary Club, the Veterans Alliance, First Mountain Bank and the City of Big Bear Lake. The Park includes a memorial, a bandstand, and benches where the public can sit, relax, and reflect. Veterans Park is located on the lake side intersection of Big Bear Boulevard and Knickerbocker Road.
2. Memorial Day Ceremony
The American Legion Post 584 Big Bear Lake, and City of Big Bear Lake collaborate each year on Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Park to honor our fallen heroes. The 2023 event begins at 11 AM with a formal ceremony fallowed by a celebration with free hamburgers, hot dogs, and a raffle giveaway.
3. Memorial Weekend Grill & Chill BBQ Festival
There's nothing more American than a weekend BBQ with friends and family. The Memorial Day Weekend Grill & Chill BBQ Festival brings together the best BBQ grill masters right in The Village to sizzle their way to grand prize. The two-day festival is open to the public to sample mouth-watering meats and vote for their favorite. The festival also features dozens of breweries selling sample pours
4. Fireworks Show
Visit Big Bear will host a special fireworks show Sunday, May 28. The display brings the community together to enjoy a fun event while paying respect to our most valuable citizens.
5. Big Bear Maifest
Enjoy the next best thing to Oktoberfest! Maifest is the traditional German spring festival celebrated with Maibock beer, Maibowle punch, brats, and other favorite food and fare.
