Kids Adventure Games This Weekend
Posted: 08/31/16 | By Tina Hauer
The Inaugural Big Bear Kids Adventure Games runs this weekend, September 3rd and 4th, open for kids' ages 6 through 14 to compete here in Big Bear Lake.
Summer fun in Big Bear Lake isn't just for adults! While a variety of activities cater to children and tots of all ages, none have been so accommodating as a new series set for younger children and pre-teens at Bear Lake's tourist favorite, Bear Mountain – called "The Inaugural Big Bear Kids Adventure Games". During the winter season, when the snow and holidays are upon us, Bear Mountain (and the sister resort, Snow Summit) caters as the ultimate Southern California ski resort for people from Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas and beyond looking for fun in the snow.
Kids Adventure Games at Bear Mountain
The Inaugural Big Bear Kids Adventure Games runs this weekend, September 3rd and 4th, open for kids' ages 6 through 14 to compete here in Big Bear Lake. The basics and main idea of these games is for children and pre-teens to learn the value of team work and to build positive relationships with others, as well as work toward a common goal. Your child can experience this thrill seeking experience built just for them, and safely! Your children can expect kid sized mountain biking, hiking, zip-lines, a Tarzan rope swing, giant Slip-n-Slide, river tubing, cargo nets, mud pits and more. This is a one of a kind experience that's perfect for an active or athletic child who wants to do something beyond karate lessons or a stint on their local baseball or soccer teams. While promoting the great outdoors and experiencing a new type of exploration and athletic freedom, kids will grow and learn skills to better their confidence and their broader life skills in any direction they choose. If your kids developed a love for the Olympic Games this past month, this is an event they can't miss! Plus, it is the perfect excuse to plan a weekend trip to a gorgeous, fun filled destination just a short drive from most Los Angeles and Bay areas.
They'll also have time to practice before the big weekend! The Kids Adventure Games instructors will offer an optional activity for all participants, starting Saturday afternoon, on September 3rd from 1-5 PM. The clinic will be taught by local experts and last approximately 4 hours. The handy clinic is a wealth of information, including mountain biking techniques, climbing and rope skills, teamwork goals and adventure racing 101! Email email@example.com or call Denise at (415) 827-0560 for information regarding the clinic for the Adventure Games.
Everyone loves awards! All participating/registered kids will be given a certificate of completion upon finishing the race awards ceremony. Awards will be given to top teams in each age category, special awards for sportsmanship as well as spirit and environmental consciousness. The party will conclude with a prize raffle for all participants. Time may be subject to change; awards ceremony will begin within 20 minutes of the last team completing the race.
