Indoor Fun in Big Bear

Posted: 02/01/24

Big Bear offers a range of indoor recreation when you're ready to get out of the elements. When you’re looking for things to do indoors, consider these top 10 ideas:

1. Big Bear Bowling Barn

The Bowling Barn is a great space for large groups and parties. With 16 bowling lanes (and bumpers for the littles), a snack bar full of goodies, an arcade, and sports bar for the grown-ups, this amusement center has something for everyone. At night, the lights go down and black lights come on. The music turns up and the place becomes a party! Friends and family can glow bowl every night, call ahead to confirm times and pricing.

2. Craft & Sip Events

Book Paint & Sip, craft evenings, or enjoy live music weekly at local wine bar Barrel 33 Big Bear. And, jump in on wooden sign crafts with Board & Brush and create beautiful decor for your home or as a gift. Both locations frequently host events for 21+ patrons only so be sure to check age requirements when booking an activity.

3. Gold Rush Mining Adventures

Everyone can experience a ‘Eureka’ moment when cracking open a geode or mining for gemstones, fossils, and gold. No prospector goes home empty handed at Gold Rush Mining Adventures. Some minerals are large enough to have cut into jewelry. The friendly miners on staff will help you get the most out of your mining adventure.

4. Hollywood Studios at Santa Land

Let your imagination take over when you step into the pop culture world of Hollywood Studios at Santa Land with superheroes, movie props, your favorite on-screen characters, and more. Even say hello to the jolly man Santa Claus and write a letter to the North Pole any time of year. Admission is $5 and these experts in fun are located in The Village.

5. Escape Rooms

For all you puzzle solvers out there, imaginative escape rooms at Mountain Room Escapes will get your mind working. You and your team will discover clues to solve mysteries (or escape your doom) before the time runs out. Perfect for 2-6 players.

6. Yosemite Axe Throwing

Fine tune those axe throwing skills at one of Big Bear's newer indoor attractions! 13 throwing lanes invite you to challenge friends and family on your axe wielding in a safe environment. Suitable for kids ages 8 and up.

7. Let's All Go To The Movies!

Village Theaters features four screens with the latest box office hits. Escape and enjoy a day at the movies with friends and family.

8. Big Bear Discovery Center
