Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join the Big Bear community as it kicks off the 2025 holiday season with music, dancing, singing, the lighting of the Village Christmas Tree - and of course - Santa Claus!
The highly anticipated annual Christmas Tree Lighting returns to The Village on November 28th! This family-friendly event is free to the public. This year's line-up merrier than ever, and features a medley of talented entertainers from Los Angeles and beloved local performers. Attendees will also enjoy interactive games and contests.

Schedule of Events
- 4:30 PM - Christmas Countdown! Danny Jordan and Eric Petersen, hosts of the #1 Christmas podcast on planet Earth, Christmas Countdown. Danny and Eric will be counting down their favorite things about Christmas, as well as hosting games and contests, so wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and practice your jolliest laugh for a chance to win a prize.
- 5 PM - The Mountain Marvelettes! These local singers are singing classic Christmas songs and this year, they will be joined by legendary local pianist and California Music Hall of Fame Inductee Mike Cross.
- 5:55 PM - Tree Lighting! City Council members will be joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus to countdown the Christmas tree lighting.
- 6 PM - Live Music! Stay for a festive set by Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra, a Los Angeles based band who has performed and recorded with world renown artists, including Michael Bublé, Brian Setzer, and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band.
- 6 PM - Photos with Santa! Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children for photos until 9:30 PM.
Village Parking Notice
Pine Knot Avenue between Cameron Drive and Pedder Road, Village Drive between Bartlett Road and Stocker Road, and Cameron Drive between Village Sports Bar and Pine Knot Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic for this event. Parking will not be permitted. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Bartlett, Knickerbocker, Pennsylvania, Cottage and Indian Village public parking lots. Or, skip the parking and take the Free Big Bear Trolley! All lines stop at the Knickerbocker Parking Lot.
