Join Chirp Nature Center on Saturday, August 21 at 10:00 AM PST for a free bird-focused talk.

What is a raptor? A raptor is a bird of prey – a lean, mean, flying machine with razor-sharp talons, exceptional hunting skills, and a meat-based diet. What does raptor mean? “Raptor” is derived from “rapere,” which is Latin for “to seize.” How many species of raptors are there in the world? There are over 500 species of raptors. They are found on every continent except Antarctica. Why are raptors rad? Tune in to this 60-minute talk to find out! Be sure to stick around after the presentation for the live Q&A session with our featured guest speaker.

Be sure to check out some of Chirp’s rad raptor-themed products and resources like this hilarious hawk birthday card, the Bird of Prey of the West Field Guide, Raptor Binoculars, and FAQs about Raptors. The event will be streamed live via Facebook and Youtube. Check back closer to the event for links to stream live for free or sign up for Chirp Newsletters and we will send the links directly to your inbox.
