About One Sky Week
In February 2025, Care for Big Bear launched the Dark Sky Initiative, a community-wide campaign working to protect our night sky, inviting residents and locals to explore Big Bear's incredible stargazing, and increasing awareness about responsible lighting.
For One Sky Week - November 1 to 9 - we're sharing stories about wildlife, conservation efforts in our forests, imagery by Big Bear's best astrophotographers, community events to get you out after dark and information about how light pollution effects our human health.
Be sure to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for digital content, articles and more about dark sky conservation and how to make a difference in our community and yours!
