Snowshoeing Is Fun And Free - A New Way To Exercise

Posted: 12/30/10 | By Daniel

With snow on the ground and Snowshoe the Bear just around the corner, I am amped to hit the forest at every opportunity whether it is training on the actual 10k route or stomping through the woods discovering new places to shoe.

Last night I joined the girls from Mountain Fitness, Toni and Lauren, for a quick jaunt up 2N17. We had clear skies, cold winds and uninterrupted views of the Village and Fawnskin. It was fun, free and we worked hard enough to get ourselves closer to being ready for race day.

We all decided to make this a weekly event. Mountain Fitness is also offering regular training hikes for those interested in getting ready for the race or just interested in getting out there for some free exercise. Check in with Ted for a schedule of training hikes and do something different this coming year! And, if you need a pair of snowshoes, there are plenty of places in the Valley where snowshoes are available for rent.

Earning my turns,
