Posted: 05/13/25

Hot coffee. Not only is it a morning must for many, but for die-hard coffee lovers...

...it's a hug for the soul.

Now imagine, you're sipping your coffee and at the same time, you've left the Big Bear community just a bit better than you found it.

That's what Moonridge Coffee Company strives to achieve through every cuppa Jo, muffin and sandwich that passes through their kitchen. Welcome to Moonridge Coffee Co, the coffee house serving up a refreshing take on food service in Big Bear.

Owner Rob McCoy expressed,

"Our team recognizes our activities have direct and indirect environmental impacts, and as a socially responsible organization we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and being a sustainable organization."

Moonridge Coffee previously sold 100% of its products in disposable cardboard 'clamshell' containers. In 2023, they implemented the use of washable tin trays and reduced use of to-go containers by 90%. The coffee house also implemented the use of a recyclable dumpster to recycle the cardboard that food products are delivered in. Since the start of the recycle program, Moonridge Coffee has recycled over 10,000 cardboard containers!

The Moonridge Coffee also does not use any Styrofoam containers or products.

In the spring and summer months, Moonridge Coffee offers spent coffee grounds for FREE to the public. This way, they may be used to aerate soil and act as a fertilizer. The program is titled Grounds For Growth.

So, stop in, sip coffee, and save the world!
