A Lucky Hatter

Posted: 08/31/26

Hats and goods made to honor the spirit of the West and Big Bear legends....sustainably.

Something about Big Bear naturally lends itself to a good hat. Maybe it’s the mountain air, the open trails, the Gold Rush history, or the independent spirit that sets the Big Bear Valley apart from the rest of Southern California. It is in this that Lucky Baldwin’s has built a hat, goods and accessory business inspired by the character, history, and rugged beauty of the mountains.

Based in Big Bear Lake, Lucky Baldwin’s creates handcrafted Western-style, trucker, Fedora's, and wide brims hats designed to be more than just an accessory. Lucky offers finished hats as well as opportunities for customers to personalize and style their own, bringing a little bit of individual personality to every piece.

Honoring the Identity Under the Hat

Lucky Baldwin's work is rooted in the care and respect for the wearer's identity. This is especially important for customers who may be battling illness, injury or hardship.

Through curated visits to hospitals, cancer centers, and community support groups, Lucky Baldwin’s provides a gentle, non-intrusive experience focused on comfort, care, and self-expression. These visits are designed to meet people where they are, both emotionally and physically. The focus is not on hats as products or styling as performance. It is on recognizing identity, presence, and personal choice in a moment when those things are often diminished. Hatmaker Missy
