Ear piercing howls fill the night sky.
Claws scamper and scurry through fallen leaves. A pair of glowing eyes stares
directly into a beam from a flashlight. These are just some of the sights and
sounds guests witness after dark at the Moonridge Animal Park’s Flashlight Safaris.
As dusk sets in this fall in Big Bear
Lake certain animals’ nocturnal instincts take over at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, which provides an engaging exhibition for people to learn about these
creatures of the night. Flashlight Safari tours start Saturday, October 5 and
continue every Saturday through October 26. Some of the animals that come
alive after dark include mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, raccoons, skunks,
beaver, black bear, owls, coyotes and wolves.
Gates open 6:30 pm and close at 7 pm to start the tour (no one will be admitted into the zoo after 7 pm). Bring your flashlight and wear warm clothes. Regular admission pricing. For more information visit the Big Bear Alpine Zoo website or call (909) 584-1299.
