Thank You Big Bear For The First Snowshoe

A brief storm left the mountain sparkling white. We meandered up until we reached a spot with a beautiful view of the lake.
A few of us from Mountain Fitness Center (MFC) wanted to do something Thanksgiving morning to burn a few calories and get the heart rate up before we settled in for football and a big feast. We considered a nice ride along the north shore to the dam. The conditions were ideal with mild temps and clear skies, but soon enough down came the snow!
A brief storm left the mountain sparkling white. It was an easy call to switch plans from knobbies to snowshoes. For those that know Ted and Heather, owners of MFC, it's no surprise their newborn baby Cayden experienced her first snowshoe outing strapped to her daddy's chest!
We meandered up the ridge just left of Bear Mountain for a mile or so until we reached a spot with a beautiful view of the lake, then charged back down to begin the traditional holiday grub fest. It was easy to be thankful for good friends and the simple beauty of mountain life.
