Big Bear Lake has you covered when it comes to activities! Whether it is your 1st trip or 100th adventure to our mountains, we want you to come up and have fun. Besides the snow sports and ski packages for both kids and adults, we wanted to inform you of the other popular activities you can enjoy during the wintertime and we know you're on a budget, so we want your trip to be as affordable as possible this season.

If you're traveling with adults or kids or a mix of all ages, finding agreeable adventures that everyone loves can be difficult. We've compiled the top Big Bear Lake adventures for both sides to enjoy, right here for your enjoyment. Take a look and book your favorites and find out what's new this winter!

Kids Vacation Ideas:

  • Gold pan at a mining adventure and discover real gems and jewels you can take home or wear!

  • Looking for a romp in the snow? Various times of year can yield snow for tours - including snowshoe adventures on local trails starting at $15!

  • Go hiking on the kid friendly "Woodland Trail" open year round which offers local points of interest.

  • The Discovery Center offers a Nature Zone for kids to climb, crawl and move through, inspiring kids to learn about nature and unstructured play. Visit during the day and explore the pathways.

  • The local Alpine Zoo doubles as a rehabilitation center for injured animals. Check them out during your self-guided tour and be certain to bring your camera!

  • The popular tubing and sledding areas in Big Bear Lake cost $30 for the day and provides use of the inner tube and a magic carpet ride to take you to the top for a day of sledding fun.

  • The Big Bear Funplex has indoor activities to wear out the most energetic kid including: laser tag, indoor-glow-golf and an arcade.

  • If there's snow, build a snowbear! (the little known cousin to the snowman) 

Adult Vacation Ideas:

  • Take a zip line tour and soar across the valley suspended high above the trees!

  • Depending on the weather, catch a lake tour across gorgeous Big Bear Lake and learn about the valley in a narrated tour over the winter waters.

  • Challenge your friends and family to a game or two of bowling at The Bowling Barn.

  • Head outside and hike across favorite local trails such as "Castle Rock" and "Pine Knot Trail" and if there's plenty of snow, try your hand at cross-country skiing!

  • Take a guided horseback tour through the snowy backcountry landscape, just remember to bundle up! 

  • Helicopter tours are one of the BEST ways to view the valley and they run year round!

  • Off Road tours feature various terrain in summer, winter and fall or take a jeep tour! Seeing the winter landscape as a passenger or you can drive your own is an experience to remember.
