The 13th Anniversary Big Bear Renaissance
Faire is three weekends, August 2-3, 9-10 and August 16-17, 2014. Discount Renaissance Faire vacation packages are available and include admission and discounted lodging. The faire takes place at Pedersen
Sawmill, located in Fawnskin at 39115 Rim of the World Drive. The jousting tournaments are only part
of the on-going medieval-themed entertainment
at the Big Bear Renaissance Faire. There are five stages of continuous
entertainment including three general stages, a children's stage, and a NC-17
stage. Note: Children under 17 should not
attend the NC-17 stage performances.
Of course, the festival wouldn't be complete without a food
and beverage court that serves everything from plump, juicy turkey legs to
scrumptious chowder served in a bread bowl. The Bear Bones & Dragon Ale
Stand serves Dragon's Blood red wine and Unicorn's Breath white wine and a full
array of ales and meads including Dragon's Breath, a blend of wheat beer and
pomegranate mead. Guests should also expect to see full-costumed vendors and
crafters hawking everything from plume-feathered hats to leather goods, and
replicated medieval swords to fine crafted jewelry.
Along with our many beloved acts, there will be eight new entertainers and groups!
There will be a new Pirate fortress, a new expanded Queen's Quest with so many new and talented folks to teach the
skills of the time and the games area is expanding and will keep you enthralled with the new and exciting games of
skill! While the Warriors Table and Queen's Tea will be coming back, the Tea
Pavilion will now house the Queens' tea and Warriors Table will be hosted by the Scots at Loch Meade Village.
Both of these events were sold out in advance ticket sales last year, so get your tickets early, both
have limited seating. The Royal Gallery is also limited seating, so if you'd like to enjoy the joust with our Royalty
and have a commemorative photo, be sure to book that ticket early.
Our fairy garden is the new home of Suspended
Reality. They will be flying IN the trees above the garden twice a day! And of course the ever popular Knights of
Mayhem return to thrill and excite you with their full contact Joust. ALL new food vendors, there is a full vegetarian selection, pastries, turkey legs, chicken, ribs,
most anything you can eat on a stick, crepes and so much more. Even the ale stands have some new ale's to offer.
