A RECORD BREAKING MONTH

The Big Bear Lake Resort Association (Resort Association) and its members are pleased to announce its Central Reservations (CenRes) surpassed $1 million in lodging arrivals for December 2011. It is the first time ever in the Resort Association’s history that lodging arrivals reached the $1 million milestone (for a one month period). The record-breaking month for CenRes showed a 59 percent increase over a five-year average in lodging arrivals for the past five Decembers.

BigBear.com, the Resort Association’s most valuable marketing asset, also experienced a monumental month in December with 224,424 unique visitors. The previous record for unique visitors to BigBear.com in one month was 151,935 in January 2010. The record-breaking month for both the Resort Association’s CenRes and BigBear.com is indication that BBLRA members’ unified marketing efforts continues to pay off.

"The reason we are on CenRes and BigBear.com is because it’s a proven tool that helps increase our reservations. BigBear.com is very visible and consistently in the top three when searching for cabins or lodging on Google,” said Gloria Loucif, owner of Pine Knot Guest Ranch. “I also like the RA’s discounted package programs that offers exactly what people are looking for. CenRes and BigBear.com is worthwhile for any lodging business in Big Bear.

"Big Bear Lake Resort Association President and CEO Rick Shoup is proud of the Resort Association members’ continuous efforts. Shoup said, “Even in a down economy, the Resort Association has shown consistent growth in reservations and web site traffic. The terrific landmarks reached in December are a tribute to our customer-driven members and staff.”
