Big Bear Hostel Offers Communal Lodging, Fun Atmosphere, and is Easy on the Pocketbook.
Big Bear is now set to host visitors at its newest accommodation Big Bear Hostel. The hostel, which is opened in February, 2008 is ideal for international travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who is open to communal-style lodging. Big Bear Hostel has a total of 13 rooms, six bathrooms and two full-size kitchens for a fun and affordable experience. Private rooms are also available for 1 to 6 people. Groups of up to 30 are welcome, based on season and availability. The hostel is located in the heart of Big Bear Lake next to the Village and offers spectacular lake and mountain views. It's across the street from the lake and just one block away from a variety of restaurants, bars, movie theaters, retail shops, and one mile from the ski resorts. The bus stop at the corner offers easy access to the trails and slopes. The hostel is a great place to meet fellow travelers from all over the world. There is a shared lounge area, reading room, dining room, exercise gym, two large decks and coin operated laundry facilities. Rates are seasonal. The friendly front desk staff is very knowledgeable about recreational activities in the area and often leads group activities like sunset hikes or bike rides.
